Econ Minister: Russia’s GDP rises 0.7%, Jan–Mar slowdown expected
MOSCOW, Feb 20 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew 0.7% in January, the January–March slowdown has been expected, Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin told reporters on Wednesday.
“GDP increased 0.7% on the year in January, according to our assessment. January is a month with the lowest GDP result in annual terms so in the outlook for the entire year its influence is minimal and not worth much attention,” he said.
“But as we expected, there is some deceleration in January–March, but there is nothing extraordinary.”
